Little Boy Card

For this cute car card start out with a half of a sheet of blue card stock (5 1/2 x 8 1/2).  Fold it in half with one of the edges sticking out about 3/8 of an inch and then fold the edge down over where the two edges meet and glue it down to create an envelope.  With the folded over edge on the back, glue the left open end shut.  Glue on a strip of green paper and black paper, and add your cars cut out of paper and the button wheels.  I used a white marker to make the stripes on the road and the windows on the cars.  Cut a small semi-circle out of the front of the card on the end where the insert is pulled out.

Then for the insert where you'll write your message, create a stop light to put on the one end of your paper and punch a small hole and tie a ribbon around it so that it's easier to pull out.  This will be your son or nephews favorite card!!!!

Little Boy Card

This card was so easy to make!  Find a cute paper at the scrapbook store that has pictures on it and cut them out and buy a corresponding print and two corresponding solid colors to go along with the pictures.  The paper I found had boats, train engines, trucks, spaceships, and stars on it.  I used three of the little 3D Foam square adhesives that are sticky on both sides to hook on the engine, boat and truck so that they were popping out a little.  What little boy wouldn't love this card?

Make It Bold

I am a huge proponent of patterned paper. I love putting different patterns together and creating something unique. This card uses some patterned paper in blues and greens, but you can use any colors you want. Just make sure that the pattern is big and bold. Cut out a rectangle that is regular card dimensions 8.5 x 10.5 inches and fold it in half. Then in a solid color that matches your design cut out a square that is about 2.5 inches by 2.5 inches. I used a corner punch to round out the corners. If you don't have a corner punch you can either leave them square or round them out with scissors. If you cut them then draw lines on the back of the paper before cutting. Then out of the pattern paper cut out a smaller square that is 1.5 by 1.5 inches and again round the corners. Stamp or write Happy Birthday on the small square. Off set the smaller square on the larger square and center on the top half of the card.  For added accent attach three small eyelets in a coordinating color near the bottom. I love using metal eyelets, because they match everything.

Another Birthday Card...

Here is another idea for a birthday card.  You'll need a sheet of striped paper, two corresponding colors and some white paper.  The striped paper is 3 1/2 inches wide and the orange is one inch and then cover where they overlap with a 1/2 inch wide strip of the blue (all cut to length of 5 1/2 inches).  Cut a 1 3/4 x 4 3/4 inch strip of blue and a 1 x 4 3/4 inch strip of orange and three white 1 3/8 inch squares.  I stamped the pictures on with black ink and then colored them with colored pencils, but you could print off some clip art from your computer instead.  You could turn it into a thank you card or pretty much anything depending on what pictures you use, so have some fun with it!

Matching Boy & Girl Cards

I love the whole brown and blue/pink look, so when I saw this paper I had to buy it.  These cards are super easy to make.  You'll need two sheets of corresponding prints, a small piece of a solid color, a small piece of white paper and some ribbon. 

I used my brown ink to chalk around the edges of the blue/pink and white paper to give it a border and then stamped "smile" and "celebrate", but you could print off the words from your computer and use a marker to mark the edges if you don't have any stamping supplies.  Use glue dots to hold the ribbon on and you can place it higher up or lower down depending on how you want your paper to show.  My niece loved this card when I gave it to her for her birthday!
